DTBY helps youth thrive, not just survive
Our mission is to inspire young adults to make their mark and drive community change.
What would the world be like if we all chose to rise above our self-doubt, fears, and make our mark?
Dare to be Youth Charity (DTBY) is a movement dedicated to empowering 14-24 year old’s in the Halton, Hamilton Regions and beyond (GTHA). We believe in the power of community as a key component of thriving and wellness, and we aim to connect youth, facilitate opportunities for dialogue, and help them build the skills to truly thrive.

message from our Community youth Council (CYC)
Over the past few years, dtby has heard time and time again from our mentees that they are worried about the future. And this has only intensified, due to the COVID – pandemic, the rising costs of living, and conflict around the world.
Our young people need support and guidance more now than ever before.
Recognizing the diversity of the community we serve, and the systemic barriers faced by underserved communities in accessing social services, DTBY has a comprehensive plan built around the principle of “nothing for us, without us,” to ensure our programs are as inclusive and accessible as possible.
As we grow and expand dtby’s Financial Literacy program into 2024, we will be looking to partner with schools and organizations in the GTHA to bring the “Enhance your Finance” workshop directly to you.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT – DTBY
Dare To Be Youth Charity (dtby) is located on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississauga’s of the Credit First Nation, and the traditional territory of many nations including the Haudenosaunee, the Huron-Wendat peoples, and is also home now to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
At DTBY, we are proud to promote the spirit of helping, sharing and caring for our neighbours without the expectation that has been exemplified by each of these nations, as the first peoples of this land, for thousands of years. And we wish to acknowledge our gratitude for the ongoing opportunity to live, work, and build community on this land.
We all have a collective responsibility to care for each other, to care for these lands, and it is past time to turn reflection into action, and we challenge ourselves, and everyone joining us here to commit to at least one tangible next step to move this work forward.
